The Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified: hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people, that in their vocation and ministry they may serve you in holiness and truth to the glory of your name; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
The Additional Collect: Almighty God, send down upon your Church the riches of your Spirit, and kindle in all who minister the gospel your countless gifts of grace: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
St Mary’s Summer Fair Saturday 16th July 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. Entrance £1, children free. Live music, burgers and hot dogs, free bouncy castle, refreshments, stalls.
Ren and Steve’s Leaving Arrangements
Thank you all for your good wishes following the announcement of our leaving the Bexley Team (and while I’ve been unwell with Covid) My ‘official’ last day, for diocesan and CofE purposes is 31st August, but it has been agreed that as I have some leave owing, we will be moving our goods and chattels out of the Vicarage on Wednesday 17th August.
The Bexley Team Farewell Service is going to be at St Mary’s Bexley on Sunday 17th July at 6.00 pm.
(As you know, church parking is limited at St Mary’s but there is plenty available in the car-parks in the Village. St Mary’s churchwarden has suggested that we keep the church car-park available for those who really can’t manage even a short walk.) There will be refreshments afterwards in the church hall.
My last service at St James North Cray will be the 9.30 am service on Sunday 31st July. There will be the opportunity for coffee and chat afterwards.
My last service at St Barnabas, Joydens Wood will be at 10.45 am on Sunday 7th August, and a ‘Bring & Share’ Lunch is being arranged.
Everybody is welcome to any of these events, and with a spread of dates, hopefully everyone will be able to make at least one event, to send us on our way! Ren
